This week brought another data point into the debate over what AI is actually doing to enterprise work. TechWolf’s September 8 analysis of 2 billion job postings across 1,496 large enterprises estimates that AI could fully absorb just 1.4 percent of enterprise task hours, while accelerating 39.2 percent. That lands alongside Revelio Labs’ August Labor Market Tracker, which finds that 87 percent of year-over-year change in work activities is occurring within occupations rather than through changes in the occupational mix.

The emerging pattern is not simply one of jobs disappearing. Work is being redistributed inside jobs that remain. 2. Productivity proof is pulling learning toward operational evidence

  3. Content remains useful, but control moves to the diagnostic layer

Work is being reweighted inside jobs that still exist.
